No contest at the Giuseppe Meazza. In the Coppa Italia Round of 16, Cristian Chivu's Inter overwhelmed Venezia with a comprehensive 5-1 victory, effortlessly securing their passage to the quarter-finals, where they will face the winner of Roma-Torino.

Despite fielding a largely changed side, the Nerazzurri started strongly and immediately dictated the game. After just 18 minutes, Andy Diouf opened the scoring, exchanging passes with Frattesi before beating Grandi with a precise diagonal shot. Two minutes later, they doubled their lead: Pio Esposito, deployed alongside Marcus Thuram, unleashed an unstoppable right-footed strike from the edge of the box.

Inter's dominance became even more apparent in the 34th minute, when Marcus Thuram made it 3-0 with a superb finish from the edge of the area, finding the top corner. The match was virtually over before half-time.

The second half followed the same pattern: Inter controlled the play, Venezia chased shadows. In the 51st minute, Thuram completed his brace, this time with a header from a perfect Frattesi cross. The visitors scored a consolation goal in the 66th minute through Ritchie Sagrado, whose deflected shot surprised Martinez. But the final score took shape in the 75th minute when Bonny made it 5-1, completing the Nerazzurri's goal fest.

With a comfortable and undisputed victory, Chivu's Inter progressed to the Coppa Italia quarter-finals without breaking too much of a sweat. Now, the Nerazzurri are just waiting to find out their next opponent.
