Of all the talents who are excelling at the South American U-20 Championship being played in Colombia, there is one who came close to joining Barcelona in January during the winter transfer window.

It is 19-year-old right-back Arthur Augusto, a Flamengo academy player and current player of America Mineiro, who is delighting the Brazilian national team in the tournament.

Apparently, according to Sport, the Brazil Under-20 right-back was offered to Barca and the club's board even considered signing him. In fact, Arthur was the third option that the Catalan institution considered for Barca Atletic, along with Wesley and Julian Araujo.

According to the aforementioned media, the 'Cules' board had very good reports on the young player, who is liked by Barcelona. But the operation could not be completed because America Mineiro wanted to get rid of him with a transfer and Barça, on the other hand, was looking for his arrival on loan, due to the restrictions of the 'Financial Fair Play'.
